Welcome to the family

السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ

May peace be upon you - and thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.

You did not just buy a screen. You welcomed into your home a companion lovingly designed for its most beautiful moments: the adhan rising, the Quran bringing calm, the sky changing with the light of day. Nida Dhikr accompanies you with the remembrances of each moment, and Makkah Live brings Makkah and Madinah into your home, live. With Nida Iqra, the Quran lights up word by word; with Nida ‘Ilm, everyone learns to read Arabic and understand their prayer, at their own pace. And with Nida Kids, your children discover the stories of the prophets and good manners: faith passed on naturally, from generation to generation. We are honoured to be part of it.

Your screen ready in 5 minutes

  1. 1Unpack your screen: the table stand, the wall mount and the power supply are included — everything is in the box.
  2. 2Plug the power cable into the back of the screen before fitting the stand.
  3. 3Choose your setup: on its stand, or on the wall — horizontally like a painting, or vertically in portrait.
  4. 4Plug in the power supply: the screen turns on by itself. Allow a minute for the first start-up.
  5. 5Let yourself be guided: the on-screen assistant takes over. The full journey, in pictures, is just below.
Guided setup, in pictures (≈ 5 minutes)

The first time it is switched on, your screen guides you step by step. Here is the whole journey: on each picture, the action to take is framed in gold. Five minutes are enough, and every setting can be changed at any time.

Did you receive Nida Home as a gift?
Did you receive Nida Home as a gift?

If your Nida Home was given to you, a unique screen welcomes you the first time it is switched on: your name, a supplication (duʿā) and the personal message of the person offering it. Take the time to enjoy it — it only appears once. Then tap “Continue” to begin the setup.

Action : Continue

1. Welcome to this sanctuary
Welcome to this sanctuary

As soon as it turns on, the screen welcomes you. Tap your language — French, Arabic, English, Turkish or German — and the interface adapts at once. Is your screen mounted vertically? Tap the icon in the top left corner to switch to portrait.

Action : Choose the language, then “Next”

2. Network connection Optional step
Network connection

Select your Wi-Fi network, then enter its password. The connection brings real-time weather, Makkah Live and updates. Then switch on remote control and scan the QR code with your phone: a remote control opens in the browser, nothing to install. No Wi-Fi at hand? The button becomes “Skip”: you can set up the network later.

Action : Next — or Skip

3. An update is available?
An update is available?

Once connected, your screen checks by itself whether a newer version exists. If so, we recommend installing it right away: Nida Home restarts, then the setup resumes exactly where you left it. You can also continue: the update will then install itself on a following night.

Action : Install now

4. Geographic position
Geographic position

Enter your country, then choose your city: the main cities are offered straight away, and the search narrows the list from the first letters. This precision is what guarantees accurate prayer times, at home.

Action : Next

5. Calculation method
Calculation method

Choose your school for ʿAsr — Shafiʿi / Maliki / Hanbali, or Hanafi — then the convention followed by your region or mosque: Muslim World League, UOIF (France), Umm al-Qura, ISNA… The preview immediately shows the five times of the day. If in doubt, keep the suggested setting: it can be changed at any time.

Action : Next

6. Choosing the adhan
Choosing the adhan

Listen to each voice before choosing the one that will call your home to prayer: Mishary Rashid Alafasy, Ahmad al-Nafees, Hafiz Mustafa Özcan… You can give Fajr its own, gentler adhan, and set a volume for each prayer.

Action : Next

7. Choosing the ambiance
Choosing the ambiance

Choose the scenery that will dress your screen: mosque courtyard, ancient Mecca, mountains, desert, ocean… and the animated themes — the oriental fireplace, the Moroccan fountain, the oasis waterfall… The preview shows the result prayer by prayer; at home, the sky follows the real weather and light of your city.

Action : Next

8. Screen mode

Continuous display: the screen stays on, prayer times and clock always visible — the natural choice for a living room. Night display: the screen goes to sleep after Isha and wakes up before Fajr — designed for a bedroom. With automatic brightness, the screen adapts by itself to the light of the room.

9. Everything is ready

To go further

The home screen

Once switched on, your screen lives on its own: nothing to handle day to day. Tap it once to bring up the controls; they fade away by themselves after a few seconds.

Overview
Overview

The landmarks of the home screen: 1 the clock, 2 the Hijri and Gregorian date, 3 the weather in your city, 4 the next prayer and its countdown, 5 the message — hadith, verse, name of Allah or supplication, 6 the prayer times with their mute button, 7 the menu: Quran, Nida Iqra, Nida Kids, Nida ‘Ilm, Nida Dhikr and Makkah Live, 8 the what’s-new bell and 9 the settings. The scenery follows the real weather and light of your city.

Reading a message in full
Reading a message in full

A hadith or a verse speaks to you? Tap it: it appears full screen, in calm calligraphy — ideal for reading together. Tap the screen again to return home.

Muting an adhan
Muting an adhan

Each prayer has its own speaker icon, next to its time. A guest, a sleeping baby? Tap the icon of that prayer: the time stays on screen, only the call is muted. Tap it again to turn it back on.

The what’s-new bell New
The what’s-new bell

After each major update, a “What’s new” screen presents what has changed, page by page. “Got it” closes it; “Read later” keeps it aside: the bell, at the top right, reopens it whenever you wish. It always steps aside during the adhan.

In portrait New
In portrait

Is your screen mounted vertically? Nida Home also displays in portrait, with scenery drawn for this format. Choose it right from the welcome screen of the setup, or in Settings → Screen mode → Screen orientation.

Nida Dhikr New

The remembrances of each moment of the day, taken from the Fortress of the Muslim (Hisn al-Muslim) and checked one by one against the source. Each one is shown in Arabic, with its transliteration and meaning, and can be heard, read by a reading voice. No moment is switched on by default: each household chooses its own.

Through the prayers
Through the prayers

Open Nida Dhikr from the home menu. The moments of the day are gathered as tiles: on waking, after the adhan, morning adhkar, after the prayer, evening adhkar, before sleeping. Others open with the weather — rain, thunder, wind.

A moment, made to measure
A moment, made to measure

Tap a moment to adjust it: bring it earlier or later, offer it on the home screen, and choose the remembrances you want to keep — one, several or all.

Everyday
Everyday

The supplications of everyday gestures, sorted by situation: meals, ablutions, the mosque, travel… Open them when you need them, or set a reminder at the time and on the days of your choice.

The session
The session

Each remembrance is shown large, with its transliteration and meaning. Tap “Listen” to hear it, then tap the circle to count your repetitions; the arrows move on to the next one.

When the moment comes, on the home screen

When a moment you have offered arrives, your home screen gently fades to make room for its remembrances, full screen. “Listen” plays the voice, “Done” closes the moment, and “Open in Nida Dhikr” opens the full session to count. A moment never appears during the adhan.

Makkah Live New

The official live broadcast from Masjid al-Haram and Masjid an-Nabawi, full screen, from the home menu. An internet connection is required.

Live, full screen
Live, full screen

Tap the screen to bring up the control band, below the picture: back or forward 30 seconds, pause, back to live, sound, switch between Makkah and Madinah, and exit. The band fades away by itself. At prayer time, the sound of the broadcast is muted to make way for the adhan, then comes back. Everything can also be controlled from the remote on your phone.

The Quran

Listen to the Quran at any time, schedule your surahs and choose your reciters. Once downloaded, reciters work without internet.

The player
The player

Tap “Quran” in the menu: the player opens without leaving the home screen — clock and prayer times stay visible. The bar brings together the surah grid, previous, play, next, the playback mode and exit. Just below, two buttons open the Quran area, with its schedules and reciters.

Schedules
Schedules

“Schedule a surah”: choose the surah, the reciter, the time and one or more days — Al-Kahf every Friday, Ya-Sin on Mondays and Thursdays, Al-Mulk every evening… If the adhan falls during a recitation, it pauses, then resumes by itself.

Reciters
Reciters

Your screen holds up to three reciters. Browse the catalog and download your voices once and for all (about 1.5 GB each): listening then works even offline.

Listen
Listen

All the surahs of the chosen reciter, with their length. Tap a surah to listen to it. You can also set how long playback waits to resume after the adhan (5 minutes by default).

Nida Iqra

The Quran that lights up: each word glows with a golden halo at the exact moment it is recited, with the translation in your language. To read, follow and memorise.

Choosing a surah
Choosing a surah

Tap “Nida Iqra” (اقرأ) in the menu: the 114 surahs appear in the order of the mushaf. Tap the one you want and the reading begins at once.

Read, follow, memorise
Read, follow, memorise

The verse is shown large, with the translation just below; in long verses, the display follows the recited word. The bottom bar keeps everything at hand: home, surahs, previous verse, pause, next, repeat, the verse loop — choose a start and end verse to work on a passage — and the transliteration, to show or hide.

Nida Kids

The children’s area: stories narrated in French and English — German, Turkish and Arabic are on their way — and activities to learn Arabic letters and numbers. The simplest way is still to start a story from the remote: the child has nothing to handle.

Stories
Stories

The stories are sorted into worlds: the life of the Prophet ﷺ and the stories of the Prophets; the pillars of Islam, learning to pray, the surahs explained, the beautiful Names of Allah; good manners and everyday supplications. Tap a story to start it.

The animated story
The animated story

A gentle illustration accompanies the narration: each word is highlighted as it is spoken — the child listens, follows and learns to read at the same time. Tap the screen to bring up the controls: back to the menu, restart, back or forward, pause, next story, exit.

Activities
Activities

Three levels to learn while having fun: the basics (the Arabic alphabet, numbers from 0 to 9), then two further levels to progress and to read words. Letters and numbers read from right to left, as in Arabic.

Nida ‘Ilm

Learn, understand, pass on: guided courses to read Quranic Arabic and understand your prayer, at your own pace. Each member of the household has their own profile and progress.

Your learning space

Choose your profile, then find your courses: “Read Quranic Arabic”, “The Arabic of my prayer”, “Funeral prayer”… The menu gives access to all courses, your reviews, learning together as a family and your progress.

A session, step by step
A session, step by step

Each session moves forward in short steps: discover, compare, read step by step, practise, understand, read unaided, remember. Tap “Listen” to hear the pronunciation of a letter, a root or a formula, read by a reading voice.

Animated themes New

Scenes come alive behind your prayer times, by day and by night, with their ambient sound if you wish. Settings → Theme → Animated themes: choose the scene, set the ambient volume or listen to it before deciding. An animated theme always keeps a clear sky.
